President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed confidence that future generations will judge his administration’s performance, despite criticisms against his government.
Akufo-Addo’s comments come amidst criticism from some who describe his government as the worst in Ghana’s 4th republic.
Some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have also attributed the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections to economic mismanagement by the party.
Speaking at the launch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s Bicentennial Anniversary, Akufo-Addo highlighted his government’s achievements in health, education, and energy, which have significantly improved citizens’ quality of life.
He proudly cited transformative policies in education, health, industry, infrastructure, and agriculture, as well as efforts to promote good governance and economic development.
“I speak to you proud of the achievements my government has chalked under God’s guidance and the support of our people. From transformative policies in education, health, industry, infrastructure and agriculture, to the promotion of good governance and economic development.
“I’m confident in all humility, prosperity will judge well the Akufo-Addo government’s performance. Future generations will look back on this era and say that we laid a strong foundation for progress and prosperity.”
