Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah has reiterated President John Dramani Mahama led government commitment to fulfilling promises made to Ghanaians during the 2024 election campaign.
The Chief of Staff revealed that a Presidential Delivery Unit has been set up at the Office of the President to track and evaluate the implementation of both policies and project initiatives to keep faith with the citizenry.
He said the unit’s task is to undertake monthly review of various commitments made to track its implementation stages and impact.
According to him, this ensures that appointees meet target in implementing various deliverables in their sectors and areas of jurisprudence.
“My duty is to ensure that every appointee under the government will work according to the wishes of the president. At the presidency, there is an office called the Presidential Delivery Unit ensuring that every month I look at the report to see if the president was able to meet all the targets,” he added.

The Chief of Staff Julius Debrah disclosed this during a town hall meeting in Koforidua, where he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resetting key sectors of the economy.
He noted that the Presidential Delivery Unit will soon get to the ground to enage various stakeholders including traditional rulers,opinion leaders, residents for feedback as part of evaluation strategy.

“Soon some persons from the presidency will come to you, the traditional leaders, to enquire of you the progress of the appointees within your jurisdiction,” he said.
The announcement comes as President John Dramani Mahama commends the Eastern Regional Minister Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey based on report by the Minister for Local Governement ,Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Ahmed Ibrahim that she has consistently met key perfomance targets in implementation of governenment policies and programs ahead of other regions through effective coordination and collaboration with MDCEs and other stakeholders.
The Eastern Regional Minister had earlier accounted that over 800 project initiatives are ongoing in the region with some completed and being used across all sectors including education,health,agric ,youth empowerment among others.
