Bolgtanga Central MP rolls out massive community transformation projects

Bolgatanga Central MP advances grassroots development with strategic investments in schools, healthcare, water, agriculture, and economic empowerment.

Hon. Isaac Adongo, Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, has distinguished himself through a strong focus on grassroots development. His interventions have centered on improving livelihoods through strategic investments in education, healthcare, water systems, agriculture, and community infrastructure.

His development philosophy reflects a people-centered and needs-driven approach, prioritizing basic social services and economic empowerment at the community level.

Education Infrastructure Development.

One of the key pillars of Hon. Adongo’s transformation agenda is education. Recognizing that quality education begins with proper infrastructure, he has undertaken construction and renovation of classroom blocks across various electoral areas.

The lawmaker is also undertaken massive rehabilitation of dilapidated school facilities to create safe learning environments
Provision of teaching and learning materials to enhance academic performance.

For instance, a three-unit classroom block at St. Paul JHS in Soe was rehabilitated to replace unsafe structures and improve teaching conditions.
Similarly, interventions at Gumbisi-Zongo led to the complete renovation of a nursery classroom block, including roofing, electrification, and furnishing.

These projects collectively aim to reducing overcrowding in schools within the Bolgatanga municipality to improve students attendance and retention.

Healthcare Expansion: CHPS Compounds and Maternity Facilities.

Healthcare delivery has seen significant improvement under Hon. Adongo’s leadership through construction of new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, completion of stalled health projects, expansion of primary healthcare access in rural communities.

Maternity Blocks and Maternal Health.

Hon. Adongo has prioritized maternal and child health through construction of modern maternity blocks,provision of nurses’ quarters to ensure staffing,improvement of maternal care services.

Water and Sanitation: Boreholes and Dams.

Access to clean water remains a central development priority. The member of Parliament has rolled out several interventions to provide portable drinking water in his constituency, includes drilling of multiple boreholes across communities, expansion of potable water supply to reduce waterborne diseases.

Dams and Water Systems
Rehabilitation and dredging of existing dams.

Support for irrigation and domestic water use
The Tindonsobligo Dam dredging project restored water capacity, improving irrigation and supporting farming and fishing activities.

These water projects aimed to improving sanitation and hygiene, enhance agricultural productivity, reduced the burden on women and children who fetch water from far distance.

Agricultural and Economic Empowerment.

Hon. Adongo’s development strategy goes beyond infrastructure to include economic empowerment-he has pledged to deploy several tractors to support farmers in his constituency in farming season.

Also set to introduce aquaculture initiatives using local dams to create jobs opportunities for the youth through fish farming.

Provision Of Grinding Mills.

The grinding mills serve as micro-economic hubs, enabling women to process agricultural produce and generate income.

Women and children walk far distance to access milling services in the rural areas, upon requests from constituents, Hon. Isaac Adongo has provided and installed 15 grinding mills in various communities in his constituency.

Roads, Bridges, and Mobility Infrastructure.

To improve connectivity and economic activity, several transport-related projects have been implemented.

Construction of bridges and culverts in flood-prone areas to ensure smooth traveling in the local communities to improve access routes between communities.

A major example is the Sumbrungu–Amogrebisi bridge, which addresses long-standing mobility challenges and ensures safe passage during rainy season.
