Ghanaian global music icon, Rocky Dawuni, has shared a powerful and emotional account of how persistence, purpose, and belief helped him achieve a lifelong dream; meeting and performing alongside the legendary Stevie Wonder.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on Starr 103.5 FM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, the Grammy-nominated artist revealed that from the beginning of his musical journey, he had set a personal goal to one day encounter the iconic American musician.
“I wanted to make sure that I work on my music so that one day I get to meet Stevie Wonder,” Dawuni said. “Not only did I meet him, I got to share a stage with him; and I feel that that is an inspirational journey for every artist.”
Dawuni described the moment as a deeply spiritual and affirming experience, one that showed the power of purpose-driven living and the rewards of staying true to a vision.
“You can’t stop believing. When you put energy into purpose and when you trust it deep enough, it’s bound to happen; because it is in the mind of the universe,” he said.
