President-Elect of Rotary International (RIPE), Mario César Martins de Camargo, has reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to strengthening its collaboration with the Government of Ghana. The renewed strategic partnership aims to advance key development initiatives in underserved communities across the country.
Speaking to the media during his official visit to Ghana on May 10, 2025—part of a broader tour of selected African countries, Mr. Martins de Camargo stated that the alliance will harness shared resources and expertise to tackle pressing challenges in health, education, infrastructure, and overall quality of life.
“One of the main purposes of this visit is to promote the concept of partnership.Partnership between Rotary, the government, and public institutions such as hospitals, environmental agencies, and microeconomic development bodies. These are the focus areas through which we can promote peace and sustainable development,” he stated.
He stressed Rotary’s continuing contributions to education and empowerment, noting that the organization has awarded scholarships to over 2,000 students.
“We have an agenda of positive actions,” he added.
During the visit, Rotary International District 9104 (Ghana) concluded a major fundraising campaign in support of development efforts in education, health, sanitation, and community development. The campaign, which included a public raffle, culminated in Kafui Kofi Karnu winning a brand-new saloon car.
District Governor Maame Hagan officially handed over the vehicle and assured the public of the integrity of the process.
“The National Lottery Authority handled all regulatory aspects. It was fair, and he genuinely won,” she affirmed.
Governor Hagan also revealed that although the campaign targeted GH¢1 million, it successfully raised approximately half of that amount.
