In a major relief for first-year tertiary students across Ghana, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has announced that it will begin reimbursing academic user fees for the 2024/2025 academic year, in line with the No-Fees-Stress policy.

According to a press release issued on Monday, May 12, 2025, the initiative targets students enrolled in accredited diploma or degree programmes at public tertiary institutions. The reimbursement process is expected to commence next month.

The move aligns with directives from the Ministry of Education and reflects the former President John Dramani Mahama administration’s commitment to strengthening human capital development through equitable access to education.

The SLTF urged all eligible first-year students to apply through the official No-Fees-Stress application portal. Applications will be cross-verified with admission records from participating public institutions.

“We urge all first-year students to apply promptly to secure their reimbursement,” the release noted.

The initiative is part of efforts to reduce the financial burden on students and ensure a smoother academic journey for Ghana’s youth.
