A 34 -year old man,Ntaadi Eric Blankson,reported to be a Lecturer has been found dead under suspected violent circumstances linked to Armed robbery at Maame Krobo in the Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region.
The deceased, identified was discovered lying in a pool of blood in his room after allegedly being attacked by unknown assailants.
According to the deceased’s brother, Mr. Blankson,had returned home for the weekend and visited to support him at his mobile money (MoMo) shop before the deceased left to sleep his room.
The brother said he remained at the shop because a heavy downpour and subsequent power outage delayed his closing time.
When he later went to the house to sleep, he noticed that Blankson’s sandals were outside the room, but the door had been broken ,but secured with a strange padlock raising suspicion.
He forced the door open and found his brother lying in a pool of blood with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.
The victim was rushed to the nearest health facility, where medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival.
The police have since visited the scene, conveyed the body to the Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy while investigations commence to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify those responsible.
The deceased’s brother also alleged that the attackers made away with approximately GH¢30,000 proceeds from the mobile money business kept in the room.
According to the family, Ntaadi Eric Blankson, a PhD holder until recent appointment at Peki College of Education as Lecturer which he was going through the process to assume the position, worked as a storekeeper at Amankwa Fisheries Agriculture Technical Institute (AFATI) in the Afram Plains North District.
Police have appealed to the public to provide any information that could assist ongoing investigations into the incident.
