The Sustain-A-Bean Foundation has been recognised for its outstanding contribution to national development, receiving the Community Impact Award at the 8th Ghana Business Awards, held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, Accra. The award celebrates organisations that have demonstrated excellence, creativity, and inclusive growth in Ghana’s evolving economy.
Themed “Creative Economy Revolution through Innovation: Redefining Ghana’s GDP Landscape,” this year’s ceremony highlighted organisations driving social transformation through innovative practices. The Sustain-A-Bean Foundation earned recognition for its pioneering trade-to-impact model, which links commercial activity directly to measurable social progress.

Under this model, proceeds from products sold through the foundation’s partner ecosystem are channelled into projects supporting healthcare, education, sanitation, and women’s economic empowerment. A flagship example is the recently completed WASH infrastructure at Tetekasum B.A School in the Eastern Region, which includes a borehole for safe drinking water, bio-digester toilet and urinal facilities, and multiple handwashing stations—benefiting hundreds of pupils and significantly improving hygiene standards.
The foundation’s work is rooted in a regenerative framework that integrates education, infrastructure, and livelihoods. Its approach ensures that social impact is embedded within trade itself, rather than relying solely on aid. Through community trust funds and women-led cooperatives, the foundation promotes financial inclusion and long-term resilience, aligning its interventions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those on poverty reduction, quality education, gender equality, and clean water.

The Sustain-A-Bean Foundation is a Ghana-based non-profit dedicated to transforming commerce into impact. Through ethical trade and strategic CSR partnerships, the organisation delivers projects that improve the lives of cocoa-growing and rural farming communities across the country.
This award marks a significant milestone for the foundation, reaffirming its commitment to using innovation and commerce as tools for community empowerment and sustainable development in Ghana.
