The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has directed all teacher trainees to return to their colleges on Monday, February 9, 2026, following signs that the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) strike is close to resolution.
In a statement dated Sunday, February 8, signed by General Secretary Victor Atsu Anyidoho and President Nanija Divine, TTAG said its previous advisory for students to remain home was issued during the height of the strike when effective teaching could not occur.
“Following the latest engagements and indications to address the CETAG concerns, TTAG now strongly advises all Teacher Trainees to report to their respective colleges and resume academic activities as directed by the college authorities on Monday, February 9, 2026,” the release said.
TTAG clarified that the directive aims to recover the three weeks of lost instructional time, not to restart the academic calendar.
The association emphasized its commitment to accurate communication and the welfare of teacher trainees.
