President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to seeking justice for the unresolved murders of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale and former Abuakwa North MP J.B. Danquah.
Speaking during a courtesy call by the Ghana Bar Association at the presidency, President Mahama emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability in cases of extrajudicial killings. He assured that his government remains committed to investigating these high-profile murders and bringing perpetrators to justice.
“We’re committed to the protection of human rights and the investigation of significant killings or murders that have remained unresolved. I have urged the police and investigative organizations to be more proactive in cases like Ahmed Suale’s. That is why a first suspect has been arrested, and we are hopeful that his interrogation will lead to further arrests,” President Mahama stated.
He further called for an expedited prosecution in the J.B. Danquah murder case and insisted on thorough investigations to determine whether additional individuals were involved.
The President’s remarks come amid growing public concern over delayed justice in these cases. Ahmed Suale, a key investigative journalist with Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI, was assassinated in 2019, while J.B. Danquah was fatally stabbed in his home in 2016.
President Mahama assured Ghanaians that his government remains steadfast in its pursuit of justice, vowing to ensure that no crime goes unpunished.
