The Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has commended the ‘No Fees Stress’ working group for their hard work on the policy so far.
This comes on the back of the expected official launch of the ‘No Fee Stress’ by President John Dramani Mahama on Friday, July 4, 2025
The Chief Executive Officer of the SLTF, Saajida Shiraz, has announced that as of Tuesday, July 1, loans have been successfully paid to 19,703 tertiary students, with priority given to students.
This development comes ahead of the official launch of the ‘No-Fees-Stress’ initiative, scheduled for Friday, 4th July.
The initiative is expected to mark a major shift in the government’s approach to tertiary education financing.
Commenting on the impending launch on Friday, the Deputy Minister for Education expressed joy on the
“JM will officially launch his No Fees Stress Policy tomorrow. On behalf of our hard-working Minister for Education and myself, I extend our gratitude to the No Fees Stress working group.
“Trust John Dramani Mahama to deliver on his promises. No Fees Stress Policy is active!” Dr. Apaak wrote on his Facebook handle on Thursday.
“The days when the Trust Fund approved students for loans it couldn’t disburse are over. The revamped SLTF is now working diligently each day to fulfill its mandate of providing timely financial support to students,” Ms. Shiraz stated. “
The latest disbursement signals a renewed commitment by the SLTF to ensure consistent, fair, and efficient access to student funding, in line with broader efforts to promote educational equity and academic continuity.
