We’re making Ghana publishing faster and better— Kwasi Boatey

Nana Kwasi Boatey, the Managing Director of Ghana Publishing Company, has disclosed that the company is working hard to improve efficiency and attract more business.

Speaking on Morning Starr with Naa Deide Tettey, Mr. Boatey explained that one of the biggest challenges in the past was delays caused by procurement processes. However, he assured that discussions are ongoing with the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) to resolve such issues.

“We need to move fast because we are in a competitive space. We will work with PPA to find a better way to meet deadlines without unnecessary delays,” he said.

He also said one of the biggest changes under his leadership is the introduction of a shift system to maximize productivity. Instead of employees working only during regular hours, they are now divided into two teams to ensure continuous work.

“We have the staff. We have the equipment. The problem was that by 5 PM, everyone would close, even when there was more work to be done. Now, we are running shifts, just like private printing companies do. This means we can deliver jobs faster,” he explained.

Mr. Boatey noted that workers have responded positively to the new system.

“I have met the labor unions and unit heads, and they are excited. You can see the energy at work. People are coming early, and there is a new sense of urgency. They are even wearing name tags to show their support,” he said.

He also revealed plans to actively seek more work for the company. A new corporate affairs and marketing department is being set up to promote Ghana Publishing and attract clients.

“We are no longer waiting for work to come to us. We are going out there to find it. If we get more jobs, we can hire more people and even expand to other regions like Takoradi and Tamale,” he added.

Mr. Boatey emphasized the need to take Ghana Publishing online, especially for selling books and legal documents.
