One of the deputy Chiefs of Staff at the Flagstaff House Samuel Abu Jinapor says he is not planning on suing controversial musician, Kwame A Plus over some corruption claims leveled against his person.
A plus has accused Jinapor and his colleague Asenso Boakye of being corrupt and extorting monies from persons seeking to meet the President.
President Akufo-Addo ordered for the claims to be investigated. A statement signed by the Director General of Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service (CID) COP Bright Oduro described as baseless and unsubstantiated allegations of thievery and corruption leveled against the duo.
However on Wednesday, September 27, social media was awash with an audio conversation between A Plus and a senior CID official identified to be the Deputy Director General of the CID, ACP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah which indicated that the investigative report was cooked.
But in her reaction ACP Addo-Danquah said it is a deliberate attempt to tarnish her reputation dismissing the audio as doctored. “I feel pained by this calculated and dastardly attempt to soil my reputation and I condemn same in no terms,” she said.
Speaking on the issue for the first time on Joy FM Friday, Jinapor said he is not considering suing A Plus over the claims. According to him, the police report must bring closure on the issue but added that his position might change depending on how the musician behaves.
“I am not too sure about a suit, but it depends on how he [A Plus] presses it and how he behaves…because tomorrow he can come on air and say that we are not only thieves but [we] armed robbers…but for now there is no suit,” Jinapor said.
Jinapor added that together with Mr. Boakye, they have forgiven A Plus for damaging their reputation.
“I don’t bear him any grudge…I don’t have any problems with him at all that is the truth…I work with Asenso very closely and he has a very big heart, a very big stomach and he can stomach a lot and…we don’t have a problem with A plus.”
