Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has threatened to initiate a legal action against the General Legal Council (GLC) and the Attorney General over the dismissal of Chief State Attorney Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh.
The GLC, the body responsible to regulate the legal profession in the county, expelled the Chief State Attorney, Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh, who was involved in Woyome’s case and allegedly facilitated the transfer of GH¢400,000 to his wife.
Mr Woyome who has been responding admitted to transferring the said GH¢400,000 to Samuel Nerquaye-Tetteh’s wife but said it was purely on humanitarian grounds.
According to him, the money in question is borrowed money which has been paid back.
“I am taking the General Legal Council (GLC) to court early next week and whatever we find we will alert you and get you so you know what is happening. We will pursue GLC and the AG for them to stop what they are doing.
“I want to repeat, Nerquaye-Tetteh’s wife’s money that I sent to her was on the basis of what I do at WOFA, Wilmy Foundation for Africa. You are aware of that, I pay fees and pay other things for many people across the whole African country. When I work that is what I used my money for, philanthropy,” Mr. Woyome stated.
He continued: “I have a lot of documents and other things that if you want I will give them to you. I was one of the persons to provide antiretroviral drugs for Ghanaians when the government had not started. Many of you have benefited from it. In schools and others. I happened to know about the woman’s issue and this one I didn’t have so we borrowed it, we signed and they have paid back.”
