The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno has made a major reshuffle in the Ghana Police Service’s leadership.
The reconstitution of the Police Management Board, revealed in a press release by the Public Affairs Directorate dated March 19, affects multiple directorates and regional commands. The changes take immediate effect.
Among the key appointments, COP/Mrs. Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah was been named Director-General of Research and Planning (R&P), while COP/Mr. Daniel Kwame Afriyie takes over as Director-General of Police Special Operations (PSO).
DCOP/Ms. Lydia Yaako Donkor has been appointed Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), a crucial position in charge of crime investigations across the country.
The restructuring also includes new appointments in regional commands. DCOP/Mr. Duuti Tuaruka is now the Regional Commander for the Ashanti Region, and ACP/Mr. Wisdom Akorli will head the Volta Region.
In the area of administration, DCOP/Dr. David Agyeman Adjem has been assigned as Director-General of Administration, overseeing internal police operations and welfare. DCOP/Mr. Michael Nketia Frempong has been appointed Director-General of Finance, ensuring financial management within the service.
Additionally, the reshuffle sees C/Supt. Mr. Solomon A. Korli taking on the role of Executive Secretary to the IGP, while C/Supt. Mr. Kudjo Aboagye has been appointed Chief Staff Officer to the IGP.
The IGP, in the statement, expressed confidence in the newly appointed officers and wished them success in their respective roles.
