Head of Fintech and Innovation at the Bank of Ghana, Owureku Asare, has called on Ghanaians, innovators, and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the upcoming 3i Africa Summit 2026, describing it as a major platform for access, networking, and business growth.
Speaking on GHToday with Joshua Kodjo Mensah on GHOne TV on Wednesday, Mr. Asare said the summit is designed not only to showcase innovation but also to connect brilliant ideas with key decision-makers, investors, and industry leaders.
“You can have the brightest of ideas. If you do not have access to the right people, it becomes a bottleneck,” he stated.
According to him, the summit will create opportunities for participants at all levels; from startups and innovators to CEOs and central bank governors; to engage, collaborate, and explore transformative business opportunities.
“Access is key… if you don’t have the right access to be able to move you to the next level, it becomes a challenge,” he said.
The 3i Africa Summit, anchored on Innovation, Investment, and Impact, is scheduled to take place from May 6 to May 8, 2026, at Destiny Arena in Accra.
Mr. Asare disclosed that activities will begin on May 5 with an invitation-only golf tournament at the Achimota Golf Club, with the Governor of the Bank of Ghana expected to tee off.
He added that the summit experience will extend beyond conference sessions to include networking events, evening engagements, and a beach rave, creating multiple opportunities for meaningful business connections.
To address transportation concerns, Mr. Asare said organizers have arranged hourly air-conditioned shuttle services between the University of Ghana Stadium and Destiny Arena to ease traffic and improve accessibility for participants.
“If you don’t want to drive, just come park your vehicle at the University of Ghana stadium, and then we’re going to have a shuttle,” he explained.
The summit will focus on critical topics shaping Africa’s digital and financial future, including borderless payments, digital public infrastructure, and broader fintech opportunities across the continent.
Mr. Asare encouraged Ghanaians to register early and participate fully.
“This is going to be one of a kind,” he said, urging participants to embrace what he described as a unique and transformative summit experience.
