Ghana gets Concrete batching Plant for standardization, quality in construction industry

A modern, sophisticated, commercial and environmentally friendly concrete batching plant has been commissioned to support the construction industry in Ghana.

The plant will enhance quality assurance and ensure standardization in the industry.

VPL Company Ltd is a wholly owned Ghanaian concrete batching plant with scientific additive laboratory, concrete transit and pumping trucks to produce and supply  laboratory engineered ready mix concrete (RMC) of different Strength grades /classes for various construction projects.

The batching Plant comes with an ELKOMIX-120 Quick Master Compact Concrete Plant and has an operational capacity to produce between 100-110 cubic meter per hour vibrated concrete.

Additionally it has twenty cubic meter four -compartment bay aggregate storage bins with capacity to store a combined total of eight cubic meters.

It has overhead overhead aggregate weigh hopper of 5000kg connected to aggregate transfer conveyor to the concrete mixer.

It is also installed with with a two 100-ton silos with a combined storage capacity of 200 tones of cement at a time therefore at such capacity, the plant is capable to meet very high product demand from users of Ready Mix Concrete ‘RMC’.

Commissioning the plant the Board Chairman of the Company, Nana Owiredu Wadie I Nkosuohene of Kwahu Nkwatia said “Ghana has experienced a lot of growth in infrastructure over the past couple of years. This change has been driven by an investment in technology in the building and the construction sector, at VPL Concrete Limited the investment in technology such as scientific addictive laboratory and concrete trucks and concrete pumps produce in supply laboratory engineered ready mixed concrete has helped us in our quest to achieve our operation of being the reference point ‘RMC’ in Ghana a position we want to maintain going forward”

He said the batching technology mitigates pollution of the immediate environment.

Nana Owiredu Wadie I is hopeful the batching plant will ensure standardization in the construction industry in Ghana.

“This concrete batching plant is just one of the many technological advancement that have been identified by the board of this great company as having the potential to help us to standardize construction in Ghana as our mission rightly says to help us be at the forefront of the great advancement that will be seen in the building and the construction sector of the country”.

A shareholder, Director and the Managing Director of VPL company Ltd Simon Kombla Agbenyegah Ayivi said 45 direct jobs have so far been created by the establishment of the company

He said in spite of effect of the turbulence in the forex market in Ghana, the company is committed to cost effective service.

“When things become tough one way to make your business survive is to try as much as possible to reduce cost and one way to do that is to source your materials from ideal places. If you have wholesome material the likelihood of having waste would reduce, as you know is a new enterprise when we reach our optimum we expect to have about forty-five employees at the moment we currently have about fifteen permanent employees and about twelve temporary staff”.

Present at the short ceremony held in Accra -East Legon Hills,were Kwadwo Yeboah Wadie ,a shareholder and Director of the company,  Founder and Senior Pastor of Agape House New Testament Church in Ghana, Richard Whitcomb and some industry players.
