The Judicial Service of Ghana has said it is in urgent talks with government stakeholders to resolve the concerns that have led the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) declaring an indefinite strike beginning on Monday, November 2.

In a public notice issued on Sunday, November 1, and signed by the Judicial Secretary, Ahmed Musah, the Service confirmed that JUSAG intends to embark on the strike effective Monday, November 2, 2026.

The Service said it is aware of the anxiety the action may cause for persons with cases pending before the courts, and assured the public that the matter is receiving the highest priority attention under the leadership of the Chief Justice.

According to the notice, management is currently engaged in urgent and active discussions with the relevant government stakeholders to achieve a swift resolution of the underlying issues.

Its primary objective, the Service said, is to ensure that the administration of justice is not unduly hindered and that full court operations are restored as soon as possible.

The Judicial Service acknowledged the operational and administrative inconvenience the situation may cause to litigants and legal practitioners.

It said it sincerely regrets any disruption to the justice delivery process and appealed to the general public, the Bar and all court users for patience, understanding and cooperation during the period.

The Service further stated that it remains committed to upholding the rule of law and serving the public interest, and will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide timely updates as developments unfold.

The notice added that the Chief Justice is committed to the prompt resumption of court services and has assured the public that the matter is being treated with the utmost urgency.
