The Member of Parliament for Asawase Mohammed Muntaka Mohammed has described his contender Mubarik Masawudu as a loud liar whose wild promises can be akin to President Akufo Addo’s promises which he insists are outlandish.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote, he asked delegates why they would want to vote for an unemployed candidate who lacks credibility.
“Somebody who has not even finished school, has never done any work before is telling you he will send so many people abroad; how can you take him serious?” he queried.
“His promises are like Nana Addo. He does not even know what he is talking about. He thinks the people of Asawase do not know the value of what I have been doing for them all these years,” he added.
The member of parliament who has served in various leadership capacities including Majority Chief Whip, is seeking a sixth opportunity to be parliamentary candidate for the NDC in 2024.
This will be the second time his contender Mubarick Masawudu will be trying his bid after he was disqualified from contesting some four years ago.
Asawase is a constituency on the radar of several political interests as it sits as an NDC seat in the very center of the Greater Kumasi Area where the NPP lays in stronghold.
