The Member of Parliament for the Wa Central, Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo is urging party cohesion in his constituency and in the Upper West region as a whole.
Addressing his party supporters on a popular Wa based radio station, Home Radio FM after winning the Parliamentary primaries, Mr. Pelpuo stated that since the primaries are over it is time for the party to unite and work to defeat the NPP.
The Upper West caucus leader in Parliament in his sixth attempt to lead the NDC in Wa Central called on his followers to therefore refrain from any kind of social media banter and focus on helping the NDC to regain power in 2024.
After the election, he said, he made contact with each contestant and invited them to join him in the effort to prepare for the year 2024.
He appreciated the kind reciprocal visit and positive response by his former contestants. Dr Pelpuo also said he is resolved to cooperate with his constituency executives in order to boost the party’s fortune in the 2024 general elections.
The results were remarkably surprising given the general view that the race was tight. Dr. Rashid Pelpuo received 871 votes, while Alhaji Hudu Moqtari, his closest rival, received 708 votes.
Lawyer Wahid Bampuori received 104 votes, and lawyer Mutiu Rahaman received 91 votes.
