The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has extended by two days the period for filing completed nomination forms for the 2026 National Officers Elections.
In a press release issued on 21 August 2026 and signed by NOEC Chairman, Frederick Opare-Ansah, the Committee announced that aspirants may now submit their completed nomination forms from Sunday, 23 August to Saturday, 29 August 2026.
The original schedule had set the filing window from 23 August to Thursday, 27 August 2026.
“The decision follows significant interest in the elections. As at the close of activities on Thursday, 20 August 2026 — Day Four of the nomination period — 44 aspirants had collected nomination forms, with two days still remaining for the pick-up of forms,” the Committee said.
NOEC stated that the extension is intended to facilitate an orderly filing process and to give every aspirant adequate opportunity to submit and verify their nomination documents.
The Committee emphasised that the extension does not alter the start of vetting or any subsequent milestones on the election timetable. Vetting of aspirants will proceed as planned from Monday, 31 August to 3 September 2026.
NOEC provided the revised and confirmed timetable as follows:
- 17–22 August 2026: Opening and closing of nominations
- 23–29 August 2026: Filing of nomination forms (extended)
- 31 August–3 September 2026: Vetting of aspirants
- 5 September 2026: Publication of vetting results
- 6–7 September 2026: Appeals
- 10 September 2026: National Executive Committee / National Council
- 14 September 2026: Notice of Poll
- 3 October 2026: Election of National Officers
NOEC reaffirmed its commitment to conducting the National Officers Elections in a fair, transparent, orderly, and credible manner, ensuring equal opportunity for all aspirants to participate fully.
The Committee expressed appreciation for the cooperation of aspirants, their supporters, Party members, and the media.
