On the 10th of October 2023, a truly remarkable day for World Mental Health, the Zen Riderrs team gathered to celebrate the profound theme of the year: “Mental health is a universal human right.”

Zen Riderrs embarked on a heartwarming journey to Korle Bu Hospital’s psychiatric department, not to merely visit but to express deep appreciation for the invaluable healthcare heroes who toil tirelessly.

Dr. Seth Asafo, Dr. Dela Fiagbe, Dr. Wilma Keteku-Atiemo, and the entire staff welcomed them with open hearts and warm smiles.

As they handed over tokens of gratitude, including cartons of water, Ekumfi Juice, personalized drinking mugs, and body massage gift vouchers, their message was clear: “You make an immeasurable difference in our world. Your selfless service often goes unnoticed, and it’s time to rewrite that narrative. Your dedication and compassion deserve recognition and praise.

The Zen Riderrs extend their heartfelt thanks to Orado Basics, led by the exceptional Bernice Okyere Baidoo, Ekumfi Juice, represented by Mr. Kow Sam, Joy News, Ghanaweb, Milife Insurance, First Bank Nigeria – Ghana, Asase Radio, GTV, Citi News, Media General, EIB Network, Daily Graphic, Samuel Nii Narku Dowuona, Founder/Managing Editor of Techfocus24, and all others who supported this beautiful endeavor. A special thanks also goes out to all members of the Zen Riders Club and The Mental Catalyst Club, distinct organizations, for showing up to lend their support.

As they embark on the forthcoming Success in Motion bike challenge by cycling from the south of Ghana – Accra to the north of Ghana – Tamale and back in 10 days, covering a distance of 1300 kilometers, they intend to raise mental health awareness in collaboration with their friends at Korle Bu and other mental health institutions. This challenge represents a powerful symbol of their commitment to promoting mental health as a universal human right, and they are excited to make this journey with the support of their community.

In a world where the importance of mental health is gaining recognition, their visit to the Korle Bu Hospital was a small but meaningful step in the right direction. Mental health is indeed a universal human right, and it’s heartening to see the dedicated professionals at the psychiatric department providing essential care.

As we reflect on this beautiful day of appreciation and recognition, let it serve as a reminder that each of us can contribute to making the world a kinder, more compassionate place. Let us continue to support those who work tirelessly in the field of mental health and affirm the universal human right to mental well-being. Together, we can inspire change and spread love in our world.
