Ghana’s Vice President, Her Excellency Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is set to travel abroad for further medical treatment following a sudden illness, according to an official statement from the Presidency’s Communications Directorate.
The statement, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications, confirmed that the Vice President received initial treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) on Saturday after falling ill on Friday, March 28, 2025.
“Based on expert medical opinion, she will be seeking further care abroad,” the statement read, without disclosing the nature of the illness or her destination for treatment.
The government has extended its well wishes for a speedy recovery.
