The Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, is in stable condition after taking ill while delivering a presentation at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
Parliament, in a statement, disclosed that Hon. Sosu received immediate assistance at the event before being transferred to a medical facility, where he is currently receiving medical attention.
“Parliament is pleased to confirm that Hon. Sosu is in stable condition and is under the care of his medical team,” the statement said.
Parliament expressed appreciation to the management and staff of GIMPA, the medical personnel who attended to the MP, and others who responded promptly to the incident.
It also thanked members of the public for their prayers and messages of goodwill.
The statement comes after a video of the incident circulated on social media.
Parliament has urged the public and media organisations to refrain from sharing the video, citing respect for the MP and his family.
It also cautioned against speculation regarding the cause of the incident or his condition, while appealing to the public to respect the privacy of his family.
Parliament said further updates on the MP’s condition will be communicated through its official channels as appropriate.
