Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has been officially named Second Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), marking a significant milestone for West African leadership in continental football.
The appointment, confirmed at a historic CAF Executive Committee meeting at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, signals a strong push for greater regional representation and inclusivity within African football leadership.
This marks a historic milestone, as it is the first time a West African Anglophone leader has ascended to such a high-ranking position within CAF under the leadership of President Patrice Motsepe.
As Second Vice-President, Okraku will play a key role in influencing major policies and initiatives that will shape the future of African football.
He joins Faouzi Lekjaa, who steps in as First Vice-President, succeeding Senegal FA President Augustine Senghor, while Kurt Okraku replaces Ahmed Yahya as Second Vice-President.
