The Vice President’s spokesperson, Maame Ama Pratt, is extolling President John Mahama’s first 120 days in office, describing the work done as having exceeded expectations.
Today, 7th May, 2025, marks 120 days since President Mahama returned to power after eight years in opposition. On the campaign trail, he promised to execute a number of initiatives within that period should he win the polls.
To mark the first 120 days, Mr. Mahama will address the nation later in the evening.
Mrs Pratt, who was speaking on GH One TV ahead of the presidential address said the president’s work had been “ridiculously impressive”.
“I mean, to be honest, I would say that he’s even exceeded, you know, expectation and it’s not me, it’s not my words, it’s just everything,” she summarized.
The vice-presidential staffer continued: “So, let’s start from, you know, even the appointments. You know, he gave a promise that within two weeks he was going to ensure that he had sort of listed his appointees.”
She said President Mahama made clear to his team he was not “going to have that honeymoon phase” associated with transitions.
Mrs. Pratt said she was going to score the president 90%, conceding that few initiatives were in the pipeline which had not yet materialized.
She attributed the unfinished business to constitutional hurdles and bureaucracy which took time to execute.
