The Black Queens stepped up their preparations for the 2025 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with an impressive 4-2 win over Benin on Wednesday evening.
The Black Queens are currently based in Morocco, putting in final touches to their preparations ahead of the tournament set to begin on July 5.
Black Queens kicked off their pre-WAFCON campaign with a commanding 3-1 victory over Malawi in the first of three scheduled friendly matches last Saturday.
Earlier this evening, the Black Queens faced Benin in their second scheduled friendly. The match saw a flurry of goals, with Nina Norshie setting the tone by finding the net just four minutes into the game.
Benin quickly responded seven minutes later to level the score. They struck again in the 32nd minute, taking a 2-1 lead into the halftime break.
Down at halftime, the Black Queens displayed remarkable resilience in the second half to stage a comeback.
Second-half goals from Alice Kusi, Susan Duah, and Chantelle Hlorkah powered the Black Queens to a 4-2 comeback victory over Benin at the final whistle.
However, Black Queens will now prepare for the final friendly match against Nigeria on June 25 before the start of this year’s WAFCON next month.
