Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, paid a morale-boosting visit to the Black Queens this morning, ahead of their crucial semi-final clash in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Addressing the team at their camp in Rabat, Hon. Adams commended the players and technical staff for their remarkable journey so far, which has seen Ghana reach its first WAFCON semi-final since 2016. He praised the squad for defying early scepticism and reigniting national pride through their spirited performances.
“You have already made the nation proud,” the Minister said. “Now, go out there and play as if you are at home. The entire country is behind you, and we believe this team has what it takes to go all the way.”
Hon. Adams was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, representatives of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ghana’s Ambassador to Morocco, and staff from the Ghanaian Embassy in Rabat. The delegation emphasized unity, discipline, and focus, urging the team to finish strong and seize the opportunity to etch their names in history.
He further assured the players that all logistics and welfare provisions have been secured to ensure a smooth and fully supported campaign through to the final.
With national expectations soaring and full official backing in place, the Black Queens head into tonight’s semi-final brimming with confidence and the hope of securing a spot in the final – and a shot at their first-ever WAFCON title.
