While Bryan Acheampong won narrowly in his home constituency of Abetifi, Bawumia dominated the rest of the Eastern Region, including Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Abuakwa South, Fanteakwa South, and New Juaben South, Ofoase-Ayirebi, signaling strong cross-constituency support.

The exercise, held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, saw an estimated 211,000 delegates vote nationwide at more than 300 centres to elect the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

Party officials praised the peaceful conduct of the primaries and commended delegates for actively participating in the democratic process.
