Nature’s Sprout Leads National Neurodiversity Advocacy with AWARE 2026 Walk in Accra

Nature’s Sprout Academy (NSA), in partnership with the Nature’s Sprout Foundation (NSF), will host AWARE 2026 (Autism Walk for Advocacy, Recognition, and Empowerment) as part of activities marking Autism Awareness Month.

The event, which has grown into a national advocacy movement, is aimed at promoting inclusion, awareness, and access to care for neurodivergent children and their families across Ghana.

The walk is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, starting at 6:30 am from North Legon in Accra.

According to organisers AWARE 2026 will bring together parents, healthcare professionals, educators, corporate organisations, and the general public to amplify a shared message that every neurodivergent child deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Nature’s Sprout Academy, widely regarded as a leading neurodiversity centre in Ghana, continues to provide specialised education and therapy through structured, individualised programmes. Its approach supports children in developing communication, social, and developmental skills while also equipping families with practical tools for long-term care.

The Nature’s Sprout Foundation complements this work by expanding access through financial support, outreach programmes, and awareness campaigns, ensuring that more families benefit from early intervention.

The organisers note that the AWARE 2026 walk will focus on promoting inclusive education, encouraging early diagnosis, strengthening family support systems, and mobilising resources to improve access to specialised care.

Executive Director of Nature’s Sprout Academy, Alice Ofori-Atta Asante, emphasised the importance of moving beyond awareness.

“Awareness must lead to meaningful action. We are building sustainable systems that empower neurodivergent children and give families the support they need to thrive,” she said.

The academy is calling on corporate bodies, media organisations, non-governmental organisations, and the public to support the initiative through participation, sponsorship, and donations.

Nature’s Sprout Academy supports children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language challenges, and other developmental needs through therapy, structured interventions, and inclusive education.
