Vice President of Ghana, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has led a high-level delegation to the camp of the Black Stars ahead of their opening match against Panama, delivering a message of encouragement and national support from President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana.
The visit formed part of efforts to boost the morale of the national team as they finalize preparations for the tournament.
The delegation included representatives of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, led by Daasebre Otuo Siriboe II, officials from Ghana’s High Commission led by High Commissioner Prof. Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, and the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), headed by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku.
During the engagement, the Vice President interacted with the players and technical team, commending their dedication and urging them to represent Ghana with determination, discipline, and excellence on the international stage.
She noted that Ghanaians across the country are united in their support for the Black Stars and remain confident in the team’s ability to make the nation proud.
The Vice President conveyed the best wishes of President John Dramani Mahama, the Government of Ghana, and the Ghanaian people, assuring the team of the nation’s unwavering backing throughout the competition.
“Ghanaians from every region, community, and household are rallying behind the Black Stars and believe in your ability to represent the nation with distinction,” she said.
The Black Stars are expected to open their campaign against Panama, with hopes high that the team will make a strong start to the tournament.
The visit underscores government’s continued commitment to supporting national teams and promoting Ghana’s sporting excellence on the global stage.
