The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nii Odarlai Parker has described as fake a letter in circulation purporting to postpone the constituency elections in Weija-Gbawe. According to Mr. Parker the letter is from some disgruntled members in the constituency. He accused them of forging the signature of the party’s acting National Chairman, Danquah Buttey Smith in an attempt to halt the constituency elections.
The regional secretary named three individuals: Daniel Awotwi, Seth Apraku Danquah and Munkaila as the masterminds behind the move.
Nii Odarlai Parker described the individuals behind the alleged document as “desperate” and warned them against engaging in acts that could undermine the integrity of the party’s internal processes.
“These are thieves and hardened criminals forging the National Chairman’s signature and letter,” he stated.
He assured the elections will come on as scheduled stressing that qualified delegates from both the old and new albums would be allowed to participate in the voting exercise.
“Delegates, whether old or new, will vote,” he assured.
The Greater Accra Regional Secretary further argued that individuals who resort to such tactics should not be entrusted with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the Weija-Gbawe constituency.
