An eighty-six year-old man has committed suicide at Anlo Town, a suburb of the New Juaben Municipality in the Eastern region.
The deceased hanged himself in his chamber and hall apartment on Saturday while others were watching the inauguration of the Nana Akufo-Addo.
Speaking to Starr News’ Eastern regional Correspondent, Kojo Ansah, the New Juaben Municipal Police Commander, Superintendent Richardson Kumeko, narrated that the police received information in the Morning that a man had committed suicide in his room.
He said police personnel and investigators were dispatched to the scene where the deceased identified as Samuel Sarpong was found hanging at the entrance of his chamber at Anlo Town with an electrical cable around his neck.
He said, after taking inventories and other relevant crime scene information, the body of the deceased was conveyed to the regional Hospital in Koforidua for preservation and post-mortem examination.
According to Supt. Kumeko, preliminary investigation indicates that the deceased has been troubled by the fact that his Children have neglected him to wallow in poverty.
