Accra, Ghana: NAVALA Travel Health has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Perriman Hotel in Accra, establishing a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the health, safety and overall experience of travelers staying at the hotel.

The partnership forms part of NAVALA Travel Health’s broader commitment to making healthcare access more seamless and convenient for international travelers visiting Ghana, while encouraging hotels and tourism businesses to place traveler wellbeing at the center of the hospitality experience.

Under the agreement, Perriman Hotel will offer NAVALA Travel Health services as part of its accommodation package, giving guests convenient access to healthcare support whenever medical needs arise during their stay.

The services available through NAVALA will include 24/7 telehealth support, in-person medical care, healthcare provider referrals, medical concierge support, emergency healthcare coordination and assistance in navigating appropriate healthcare services, among other related travel health services.

The partnership is also expected to position Perriman Hotel as a hospitality provider that goes beyond traditional accommodation by providing guests with an additional layer of health and wellness support.

NAVALA: Bringing Healthcare Into the Travel Experience

Speaking to the media following the signing, Country Director of NAVALA Travel Health, D. Ampomah Oppong, said the partnership represents a new approach to how hotels and tourism businesses can create greater value for travelers.

“It is time we moved beyond simply selling accommodation. Don’t just sell accommodation. Don’t just sell a tour. Sell peace of mind.”

Mr. Oppong explained that travelers can experience unexpected health challenges while away from home and may not know where to seek appropriate medical attention, particularly when they are unfamiliar with the local healthcare system.

He said NAVALA Travel Health is designed to bridge that gap by connecting travelers to appropriate healthcare support through technology, healthcare professionals and a growing network of healthcare providers.

“By partnering with NAVALA Travel Health, you add healthcare support to the travel experience. Hotel + Tour + Healthcare Support = Better Traveler Experience.”

According to him, integrating healthcare support into hospitality and tourism services can give international visitors greater confidence when traveling in Ghana.

He further emphasized that the NAVALA model is not intended to replace existing healthcare or travel services, but rather to help travelers navigate and access appropriate care when they need it.

Perriman Hotel Welcomes Strategic Partnership

The Chief Executive Officer of Perriman Hotel, Mrs. Fatima Perriman, expressed her excitement about the partnership and said the hotel is pleased to collaborate with NAVALA Travel Health as part of its commitment to the wellbeing of its guests.

Speaking to the media, she said:

“As part of our commitment to your wellbeing, we recommend NAVALA Travel Health. We are happy to partner with NAVALA Travel Health. If you need medical assistance during your stay in Ghana, NAVALA can help you access the appropriate care.”

Mrs. Perriman noted that the partnership provides an added layer of support for guests, particularly international travelers who may require assistance navigating Ghana’s healthcare system during their stay.

She said the hotel looks forward to working closely with NAVALA Travel Health to ensure that guests can enjoy their stay with greater confidence and peace of mind.
