Former NPP Youth Organiser aspirant Alfred Ababio Kumi, popularly known as Adenta Kumi, has urged party members to respect the victories of candidates who emerged successful in the party’s recent national elections.
Speaking to Isaac Addae on The Verdict on Starr FM, Adenta Kumi said the victories should be viewed in the context of the work and effort the successful candidates put into convincing delegates to support them.
“Everybody that won deserves their victory. Trust me.”
He said his own experience of travelling across the country during his campaign, but failing to secure victory, demonstrated how difficult it is to convince delegates in a national internal election.
“Some of us, we went around the country, and still got nothing. So, it should tell you the amount of work people have put in to get to where they are.”
Alfred Ababio Kumi stressed that winning the confidence of delegates requires significant effort and should not be underestimated.
“It’s not easy to convince delegates. It’s not easy to convince delegates at all.”
He therefore urged party members to look beyond allegations and instead examine what successful candidates did differently to secure their victories.
According to him, understanding the strategies and efforts that contributed to their success could provide useful lessons for the party and other aspirants ahead of future internal elections.
He maintained that rather than questioning successful candidates unnecessarily, party members should ask what they did right and learn from their experiences.
