The Obengfo Medical Centre at Weija in Accra has been shut down by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council.

According to the medical Council, operators of the centre do not have the requisite licence to carry out their activities.

An attempt to shut the facility down earlier this month failed as patients and staff of the centre physically fought off efforts by the team that went to undertake the exercise.

Starr News’ Atiewin Mbillah-Lawson who witnessed the shut down Friday said a single door, has however, been left open for  patients already on admission to exit the facility.

Efforts by the administrator Dr. Dominic Obeng-Andoh  to quash a court order to close down his facility was thwarted as it was discovered that  his lawyer’s practicing license had expired.

Meanwhile, he told StarrFMonline.com in an earlier interview that he is only being witch-hunted by some individuals within the medical council.

“I’m not operating illegally, but there are issues… and these are diabolic actions to frustrate me.

“This is sheer jealousy. I’m actually doing what no doctor is really doing and I have advanced the level. I get clients that no doctor is getting and receiving people some doctors are not getting; celebrities, journalists, doctors and international people from the US, UK among others,” he stated.
