Four clubs have secured their places in the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup after an exciting round of quarter-final matches that delivered goals, drama and penalty shootout tension across different venues.
Former champions Aduana FC produced the most dominant performance of the round with a commanding 3–0 victory over Techiman Liberty Youth FC. Daouda Ben Sidibe opened the scoring in the 39th minute to give Aduana the lead before Alex Boakye doubled the advantage in the 81st minute. Emmanuel Marfo sealed the emphatic win deep into stoppage time, scoring in the 90+2 minute to send Aduana comfortably into the last four.
In another quarter-final clash, Nations FC edged past Berekum Chelsea after a tense encounter. The match ended goalless after regulation time, forcing a penalty shootout where Nations FC kept their composure to win 4–3 and book their historic place in the semi-finals.
There was late drama when Dreams FC met Heart of Lions. Heart of Lions took the lead in the 34th minute through Seedorf Asante and looked set for victory. However, Dreams FC snatched a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time when Suraj Seidu scored in the 90+2 minute. The game proceeded to penalties where Dreams FC triumphed 4–3 to advance.
Meanwhile, Medeama SC delivered a ruthless extra-time performance to defeat Attram De Visser 3–0. Kelvin Nkrumah was the hero of the night, scoring a remarkable hat-trick in extra time with goals in the 109th, 114th and 118th minutes to power Medeama into the semi-finals.
For the semifinals, Dreams FC will face premier league leaders Medeama SC while Aduana FC take on Nations FC. The dates and time for both games are yet to be determined by the Ghana Football Association.
