The Senior Housemaster of Achimota Senior High School (SHS), Emmanuel Hanson, has instructed his lawyers to explore legal remedies to clear his name over alleged sexual harassment and sextortion.

Mr. Hanson, also a teacher, said the allegations made by a former student, Hafsatu Osmanu, and her mother, tarnished his hard-earned reputation.

The Senior Housemaster is said to have ceased the mobile phone of Ms. Osmanu when she was in her final year. Upon completion of school, Ms. Osmanu and her mother are said to have issued threatening words against the teacher after attempt to retrieve the phone was unsuccessful.

Aside the alleged threatening words, the two are said to have published on social media allegations of sexual harassment and sextortion against the teacher.

Unhappy with the development, his lawyers, Kulendi at Law, in a statement issued on his behalf signed by Lawyer Emmanuel Dei-Tumi Jr. (Akora), said their client had petitioned the Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a forensic examination of mobile devices to determine whether he authored or sent any of the messages attributed to him in circulated screenshots.

The forensic examination revealed no WhatsApp conversation between Hanson and Osmanu, concluding that the messages attributed to Hanson were fabricated. The former student Ms. Osmanu had refused to submit her device for a similar examination.

The teacher claims the allegations have caused him and his family personal and professional distress, damaging his reputation as a teacher and Senior Housemaster.

He has instructed his lawyers to take legal steps to vindicate his name and hold those responsible accountable.

“The publication and circulation of these allegations have caused our client and his family considerable personal and professional distress and have infest severe damage to his reputation,” his lawyers said.

Below are excerpts of the statement

In a bid to establish the truth of the
matter and vindicate his name and reputation,
notwithstanding the operation of the legal presumption of innocence which operated in his favor, our Client took the extraordinary step of personally petitioning the Cybercrime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service and requested that a forensic examination be conducted on the various mobile devices to determine whether he had authored or sent any of the messages attributed to him in the circulated screenshots.

Consequent upon this request, officers of the said Unit invited and interviewed our Client, Ms. Osmanu and her mother in the course of their investigations.

Following these engagements, our Client voluntarily submitted his mobile device for forensic examination; strangely, however, Ms. Osmanu, despite being the person who had made the allegations of sexual harassment and “sextortion” and who claimed to possess the alleged conversations and had provided screenshots of same to officers of the Achimota Police Station, opted against submitting any device for a similar forensic examination.

Following that forensic examination, a police investigative report dated 1ht March, 2026 concluded as follows: “The forensic examination determined no WhatsApp conversation between the
complainant (Mr. Emmanuel Hanson) and user of MTN number. . . (Musah Hafsatu Osmanu).”

This finding demonstrates, conclusively, that no WhatsApp conversation ever took place between our Client and Ms. Hafsatu Osmanu, and that the messages attributed to our Client and intentionally circulated across various platforms are unsupported by any evidence.

The inevitable inference from this forensic examination si that the purported screenshots were fabricated and subsequently circulated in an apparent attempt to deflect attention from, and avoid accountability for, the threatening remarks made by Madam Daayimatu Abdallah in her audio message of 28th December, 2025.

The calculated dissemination of these false allegations was also plainly intended to inflict the gravest reputational harm on our Client by portraying him to the public as a sexual predator and social deviant who had abused his position of authority in relation to a former student.

Such allegations, which strike at the very core of a teacher’s professional integrity were clearly designed to bring our Client into disrepute and to lower him in the estimation of right-thinking members of society.

The publication and circulation of these allegations have caused our Client and his family considerable personal and professional distress and have inflicted severe damage to his reputation as a teacher and Senior housemaster who has served Achimota School in varied capacities over several decades with dedication and distinction.

Our Client has therefore instructed us to take al appropriate legal steps available to him under the laws of the Republic of Ghana to vindicate his name and to hold those responsible for the fabrication and dissemination of these allegations accountable.
