Afro-Jamaican singer Barbee made a stunning debut appearance at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), capturing attention with a breathtaking self-designed couture outfit that quickly became one of the most talked-about fashion moments of the night.
The singer-songwriter arrived at the prestigious event in a custom-made two-piece ensemble from her newly launched fashion brand, African Barbee. The look featured a sculpted corset and matching skirt crafted from rich African print fabrics, delicately embellished with crystals and intricate detailing that reflected elegance, creativity, and cultural pride.
Barbee, born Faith Barbee Eselebor, used the occasion not only to celebrate music but also to officially introduce her fashion label to the Ghanaian entertainment and fashion scene.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the design, the artist revealed that the outfit was deeply rooted in her African heritage and childhood memories.
“Being able to create designs inspired by my African roots and experiences growing up means so much to me,” she shared.
Her appearance instantly sparked conversations across social media, with fans and fashion enthusiasts praising the originality of the outfit and the confidence with which she carried the look on the TGMA red carpet.
Currently in Ghana, Barbee is also working on visuals for her latest single titled Start Over, as she continues to strengthen her connection with the continent through music, fashion, and storytelling.
Known for blending Reggae, Dancehall, Pop, and R&B influences, Barbee has previously collaborated with international acts including Beenie Man, Trina and Junior Kelly, steadily building a global brand that now extends beyond music into fashion entrepreneurship.
