After years of complaining, drivers and residents of New Adenta can now heave a sigh of relief contractors have moved to the site to begin work on the Container to Lakeside road.
The 2.7 kilometers road has been in a very deplorable state for the past 19 years and has been a source of discomfort for residents and drivers who use it.
Some residents who use that stretch on a daily basis told starrfm.com.gh that, the poor nature of the road has caused them so much inconvenience.

“My vehicle is currently at the mechanic shop for repairs and that has been my problem for years due to the bad nature of the road. Almost every week, I have to take my vehicle to the mechanic for repairs”, a resident who gave his name as Michael said.
Another resident disclosed how he constantly gets water splashed on him by vehicles anytime it rains due to the potholes on the road.
“Anytime it rains I get scared of coming out as vehicles often splash water on us here due to the potholes”, he stressed.
Following the concerns from the residents, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Adentan Akosua Asaa Manu took the initiative to lobby the ministry of roads and highways to consider the construction of the 2.7 kilometers road.
The road is an easy link for residents and motorists from Dodowa, Oyarifa, Adentan to communities such as lakeside estates, Ajiringano, Nanakrom among others.
However, due to its poor nature, there is usually a gridlock in the mornings and evenings.

Following the constant complaints from the residents and drivers who ply that road, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Adentan, Akosua Asaa Manu lobbied the Ministry of Roads and Highways to have it worked on.
The ministry has since awarded the road on contract for it to be worked on.
Speaking to the media at the site where the contractor has moved his machinery to, Akosua Manu who was elated with the development expressed optimism the work will be done by September.
“The contractor tells me he is sure to complete the project by September so that the people here can use it”, she disclosed.
“This road has been in deplorable shape for over 19 years causing a lot of inconvenience to the residents and drivers. If this is done, residents here will be okay as they can now move easily to lakeside, Ajiringano, Nanakrom and other places”, she stressed.
Site Engineer for the project Alfred Yeboah told starrfm.com.gh that the necessary pre-construction works have been done and work will start immediately.
“We plead with the road users to exercise patience with us as we work to complete the project on schedule. We will create some diversions which may create a traffic situation so they should bear with us”, Alfred said.
