Presiding judge, Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe says the Court will not hear oral submissions from parties in relation to all four application pending before the Court but will rely solely on submissions filed by the parties.
The High Court has since fixed June 6 to deliver rulings on all four separate applications filed by Dr Cassiel Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa in the ongoing ambulance trial.
The applications – three from Dr Forson among other things seeking an enquiry into the conduct of Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dane following allegations made against him by Richard Jakpa while Richard Jakpa has one seeking for the charges to be dropped against him.
On Tuesday, June 4, when the case was called Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe said she would not take oral submissions on the applications but would rather determine them based on submissions filed by the parties.
The Court only allowed submissions on objections raised by lawyers of Richard Jakpa led by Thaddeus Sory against the AG affidavit in opposition to Richard Jakpa’s request.
They argued that Richard Gymbiby, a Principal State Attorney who deposed to the affidavit in opposition, was not involved in the said conversation with their client.
But, Godfred Dame, whom Richard Jakpa had accused opposed to the objection and urged the Court to dismiss it.
Justice Asare-Botwe will deliver her rulings on June 6.
EIB Network’s Legal Affairs Correspondent, Murtala Inusah reports that the Court said it will take into consideration supplementary affidavits regarding the audio recordings said to be a conversation Mr Jakpa had with the AG.
