The Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman in Eastern Region,Thomas Ampem Nyarko is leaving an indelible mark on the educational landscape by providing steadfast support to the students embarking on their Senior High School (SHS) and tertiary journeys.

Following the recent release of Senior High School placements by the Ghana Education Service on November 28th, Hon. Thomas Ampem Nyarko embarked on a comprehensive tour across various communities within Asuogyaman.

His mission: to congratulate and assist Junior High School graduates who have successfully secured admission to different Senior High Schools.

At individual events hosted at Dodi Asantekrom, Labolabo, Mpakadan, Atimpoku, Gyakiti, Yeniama, Old Akrade, and Adome, the MP personally engaged with a total of over 400 beneficiaries of his Senior High School Support Program.

These fortunate graduates, representing various Junior High Schools in the constituency, were presented with essential items such as mattresses, chop boxes, and trunks – crucial tools that will play a pivotal role in their educational journeys.

Hon. Thomas Ampem Nyarko, while commending the students for their success in the Basic Education Certificate Examination, emphasized the significance of making Asuogyaman proud in their respective Senior High Schools.

Acknowledging the financial challenges faced by the students’ parents, he stated, “This is a token of my support to you and your parents, who I am aware are struggling to put resources together to ensure you go to school, especially with the short period they have between the release of your placement and the date of reporting to school. Please go and make your parents and Asuogyaman proud, and I will continue to support you.”

In a broader commitment to education, the MP extended his support beyond high school entrants.

Over the weekend, 30 tertiary students were recipients of financial aid in the form of cheques, underscoring Hon. Thomas Ampem Nyarko’s dedication to fostering education at various levels within the community.

In January this year, the MP issued out a total of Gh200,000 cheque to support one hundred and fifty (150) students who have gained admission to various tertiary institutions as well as some continuing students struggling to pay their fees.
