Police have arrested suspects linked to the murder of the Queen of Abamba near Amantin in the Atebubu-Amantin District of the Bono East Region, months after the shocking killing that unsettled the community.
Investigators say the arrests followed sustained intelligence-led operations that led security personnel to the hideouts of the alleged killers of Nana Serwaa Asaamaa Kuma Gyan.
The queen was found dead at her residence on February 25, 2026, in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The motive behind the murder remains unclear, with the suspects reportedly going into hiding after the incident.
The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), travelled to Atebubu to take custody of the suspects.
The suspects are expected to be transferred to Accra to assist with further investigations into the case.
The killing of the queen sparked fear and insecurity in the area, while her body is yet to be interred as investigations continue.
