The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) Disciplinary Board has handed down sanctions to the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF) and the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) following the chaotic incidents that marred the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Final.
The FSF has faced the brunt of the punishment, with head coach Pape Bouna Thiaw receiving a five-match suspension and a $100,000 fine for his unsporting conduct. Players Iliman Cheikh Baroy Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr have also been suspended for two matches each for their part in the disturbances.
Additionally, the FSF has been fined $300,000 for supporter misconduct and a further $300,000 for the unsporting conduct of players and staff.
Morocco has also faced sanctions, with Achraf Hakimi receiving a two-match suspension (one suspended for a year) and Ismaël Saibari getting a three-match suspension and a $100,000 fine. The FRMF has been fined $200,000 for the behavior of ball boys and $100,000 for players and staff invading the VAR area.
CAF has rejected Morocco’s protest over alleged Senegal violations, bringing an end to the disciplinary proceedings.
