Calls for CID boss’ resignation unfair – Security Analyst

The CID boss visited families of the missing girls

A security analyst Emmanuel Kutin has described as unfair calls for the director general of the Police CID to resign over her comments on the Takoradi missing girls.

There have been mounting calls for Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah to resign following her claim that the police is aware of the whereabouts of the missing girls – but has so far failed to produce them.

She has however told the media her resignation will not solve the mystery surrounding the missing girls.

“My position is not a position that I applied for. ….I don’t need to resign. Resigning is like resigning from the Ghana Police service, and the position is not something I applied for. When the time comes for me to be transferred, I will be transferred.

“When you have everybody calling for your resignation, you ask yourself, is that the one that will solve the problem. There’s a problem for us to solve and that is my focus. I want to bring whatever situation that we have at a very conclusive stage not to waste your time thinking you want to resign or not,” she said at the maiden Commonwealth Speaker Forum held in Accra Wednesday.

Backing her position, Mr. Kutin said Ghanaians must know that the CID boss made her comments out of intelligence that she received from other security agencies.

“The BNI Boss was in Nigeria at the tax payers expense and brought information that he knows the whereabouts of the girls. When that information turned out to be false, he was fired. Tiwa was working in collaboration with the BNI If you listen to the voice, she was appointed.

“We can call for a transfer from her position to another and not resignation. We should be asking ourselves if her resignation will bring the girls back. She is the first CID Boss we’ve had and we’re asking that she resigns? I think it’s so unfair,” he told Francis Abban.

The missing girls, Priscilla Blessing Bentum was first kidnapped on August 17th 2018, while Ruthlove Quayeson was kidnapped on December 4, 2018 and Priscilla Mantsebeah Koranchie also kidnapped on December 21 2018.
