Ghana’s celebrated highlife legends, Daddy Lumba and Kojo Antwi over the years have not only shaped the landscape of highlife music but have also given music lovers a rich catalogue of timeless hits. While their styles differ, their influence is undeniable.

This feature takes a deep dive into the showdown between these musical legends, each known for their exceptional songwriting, unique vocals, and a career spanning decades.

To help settle this debate, here are five iconic songs from each artist that have defined their legacy and continue to resonate with fans across generations.

Daddy Lumba: The Highlife Maestro

1. “Medofo Pa”

A smooth love ballad that has stood the test of time, “Medofo Pa” highlights Kojo Antwi’s deep and soulful voice. Known for his romantic lyrics and emotional delivery, Antwi crafted this song as a tribute to eternal love.

2. Adiepena”

This song remains one of Antwi’s greatest contributions to highlife. Its soulful rhythm, combined with poetic lyrics about longing and love, make it an all-time favorite for weddings and special occasions.

3. “Tom & Jerry”
