Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the Special Aide to the President-elect John Dramani Mahama, has strongly rejected claims suggesting that Dr. Callistus Abukari Mahama is related to the president-elect.
The clarification comes amidst media speculation that Dr. Mahama’s appointment as Secretary of the 2024 Transition Team was influenced by supposed family ties.
President-elect Mahama appointed Dr. Callistus Mahama to the position, as part of his transition team.
In a Facebook post on December 12, 2024, Mogtari refuted the allegation, stating that there is no familial relationship between the two.
She further addressed claims made by NPP’s Ayikoi Otoo in the comment section, calling them false.
It stated, “Good morning everyone!Dr Callistus Abukari Mahama has no familial relations with the #PresidentElect, HE John Dramani Mahama! Kindly take note.”
In the comment section, she added, “That is the fact that I am putting out because what Ayikoi Otoo said is a lie. Please we are not even talking about qualifications I beg youThe NPP big man has told us a lie to the whole world and that is unfair and wrong and has to be corrected.”
