More than 1,000 learners from the St. Cyprian’s Anglican 1 & 2 Basic Schools in Obeyeyie, located in the Ga-West District of the Greater Accra Region, have received a significant boost for the new academic year through a generous donation from the Dress A-Kid Foundation.
The Foundation, made up of a dedicated team of volunteers, provided a range of essential school items, including exercise books, storybooks, confectioneries, clothing, Bibles, and other school supplies.
This initiative is part of the Foundation’s “Back to School” project, aimed at easing the financial strain on parents while ensuring that students are well-equipped for their studies.
Henrieta Boateng, a member of the Dress A-Kid Foundation, emphasized the group’s commitment to helping children in need, stating that their work is powered by volunteers who believe that “one does not need excess before reaching out.”
Madam Cynthia Hevi, headmistress of one of the beneficiary schools, expressed her gratitude and highlighted the timeliness of the donation, noting that many students depend on such support for their educational needs. Madam Hevi also took the opportunity to call upon the Foundation and other charitable organizations to assist in renovating some school buildings to further improve the learning environment.
Key partners in this project included Bengift Clothings and Step and Shine Foundation.
For over a decade, the Dress A-Kid Foundation has been a pillar of support for underprivileged children across Ghana. With a mission rooted in the spirit of giving, the Foundation has reached over 5,000 children in more than 30 communities nationwide, supporting both their academic pursuits and other aspects of their lives.
