Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Elikplim Akurugu, has donated relief items to victims of a devastating fire that swept through a squatter community at Haatso-Ecomog on Monday, February 10, leaving dozens of families homeless and destroying property worth thousands.
During her visit, the MP expressed deep sympathy for the affected residents and assured them of both immediate and long-term support. As part of the relief efforts, she donated essential items, including food supplies and toiletries.
The gesture was warmly received by the victims, many of whom lost everything in the inferno.

Local authorities, including the Assembly Member for the area, Philip Nii Kpakpo Samoah Addoquaye, were also present, working tirelessly to assess the damage and coordinate additional aid.
Community leaders praised the MP’s swift response, emphasizing the need for long-term solutions to prevent similar disasters in the future.
