The Ghana Education Service (GES) has begun investigations into an alleged assault on a student by two teachers of Techiman Senior High School (SHS).
In a statement dated October 31, 2026, the Service said its management had sighted a disturbing video circulating in sections of the media showing the alleged incident.
The statement, signed by the Head of Public Relations of GES, Daniel Fenyi, named the teachers involved as Mr Jerry Jones Owusu Bekoe and Mr Adusa Ameyaw.
According to the GES, the school’s disciplinary committee has held its initial hearing into the matter. The committee’s findings are expected to be submitted to management through the Regional Directorate in the coming days to inform further action and decisions.
The Service added that the affected student, a final-year Agricultural Science student, has received medical attention and is responding positively to treatment.
The GES urged the general public to remain calm as thorough investigations are being conducted into the matter.
